Council has four members right now, due to the passing of Councilman Joseph Timinski, and they are elected to office for a four year term. Before 1980, there were nine members of council, but two of the seats were dropped, making it a seven member board, until 2004 when one member was dropped making it a six member panel. Then in 2006 one more was dropped making it a five member panel. Council members are not elected from any certain ward. They are to represent all wards equally, no matter what ward they presently live in.
Stanley Knick Junior is the newest member to council elected in the General Election for 2006, and elected President of Council January 7, 2008.
Stanley Golembiewski has been on council since elected in 1996, and moved up to the president seat in May of 2002 replacing Matt Szumski, and held the seat until June 12, 2007 when he voluntarily vacated the seat, then elected Vice President on January 7, 2008.
Ed Kowalczyk was elected to council in 1996 and held the seat for four years, then lost in his bid for re-election in 2000, but ran again in 2002 and won his seat back.
Brian Nesgoda was elected to office in 2002 and held the vice-president since elected, then assumed the role of temporary Council President on June 12, 2007 when Stanley Golembiewski vacated the seat and held the position until January 7, 2008 when Stanley Knick was elected President and Stanley Golembiewski was elected Vice President.
Joseph Timinski Jr. was voted in on July 8th to replace the vacant seat of his father, who died while serving the people of Dupont in June.
